The other year, I decided to take a hiatus from working for a paycheck so I could try my hand at solo game development with minimal distractions. Now that I'm working full-time again, it's a bit up in the air how much game dev I'll continue to do.
Whatever I end up doing down the road, you can still play the result of my "self-employed internship": The Amateur Deity Society, a short point-and-click/interactive fiction game for Windows and Linux about an ostensible high school computer club that gets in over its head with an unusual project.
